Aliens Institute es un colectivo formado por María Adelaida Samper y Gabriel Zea, trabajan desde el sur global entendiendo su contexto geopolítico como un lugar de enunciación y producción. En sus prácticas, operan desde los modos de hacer del arte contemporáneo entendiéndolos como herramientas para enfrentarse a diferentes lugares de investigación y explorar formas de coexistencia entre el planeta y los otros. Desde los campos de las pedagogías críticas y horizontales, experimentan con diferentes modos de producción y circulación de conocimiento que reconfiguran categorías y jerarquías pre-establecidas. La hibridación de teoría crítica y conocimientos subalternos constituye la base de sus reflexiones y experimentaciones, actuando como tricksters, Aliens busca desestabilizar ideas y relaciones interpersonales. El sustrato de su trabajo se encuentra en relaciones de amistad y de afectos, en los cuales activan redes de personas para movilizar energías a través de hangeos profundos, donde la circulación de la palabra y la escucha activa son usados para fomentar nuevas imaginaciones en busca de nuevas formas de agencia con la materia.

Aliens Institute is a collective constituted by María Adelaida Samper and Gabriel Zea, working from the Global South, with an understanding of their geopolitical context as a place of enunciation and production. In their practices, they operate with the means of contemporary art as tools to address different fields of research and explore ways of coexisting with the planet and others. From within the fields of critical and horizontal pedagogies, they experiment with various ways of producing and circulating knowledge that reconfigure pre-established categories and hierarchies. The hybridization of critical theory and subaltern knowledge creates the basis of their reflections and experimentations, acting as tricksters, Aliens wish to destabilize ideas and interpersonal relations. Affective relationships and friendships constitute the substratum of their work, in which they activate networks of people and mobilize energies through deep hangings, where the circulation of speech and active listening are used to foster new imaginations, searching for fresh forms of agency with matter.
